Raising malaria awareness

On the occasion of World Malaria Day 2012 Bayer is supporting a number of activities across Sub-Saharan Africa. As part of these efforts, Bayer has partnered with TV5 in West Africa to increase public awareness about malaria.

The awareness campaign, which runs from 20th to 29th of April, emphasises the necessity to use malaria control tools like bed nets and indoor residual spraying to prevent the disease and protect local communities.

TV5 will also run three programs related to malaria this week:

  • “Coup de Pouce Pour la Planète” which focuses on sustainable development with an emphasis on environmental changes, causes and diversity
  • “Quoi de Neuf Doc”, a weekly medical talk show
  • “L’Invité interviews” will invite a senior official from the Ministry of Health in Senegal to speak about malaria issues
Bayer is devoted to working in cooperation with various partners to contribute to malaria elimination in Sub-Saharan Africa.
