LifeNet® is registered in DRC

Bayer’s LifeNet, an innovative long-lasting mosquito net, has been recently approved by the registration authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

DRC, situated in Central Africa, has a population of about 74 million people and is the third largest country in Africa. Malaria is the leading cause of death, killing approximately 180,000 children under-five every year.

LifeNet is the world’s first long-lasting mosquito net to be manufactured from multifilament polypropylene. With deltamethrin incorporated into the fibres, offering extended wash resistance beyond 35 washes and superior textile strength compared to polyester and polyethylene nets LifeNet presents a highly valuable tool in the fight against malaria in countries such as DRC.

LifeNet achieved interim recommendation through the WHO Pesticide Evaluation Scheme during 2011.
